Anxiety & depression

That ever-present anxiety.

You just. Can’t. Relax. You always seem to be on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You feel like you’re a mess. At work. At home. It doesn’t matter. Life feels like it could fall apart at any moment – and you’re barely hanging on. Are you on the verge of a panic attack? You don’t even know. What are you so anxious about? You don’t. Even. Know…..

Then the depression kicks in. No matter what direction you go in your mind, no matter what part of your life you think about, there it is – darkness. Nothing is going right, nothing is going the way that it was supposed to go

Finding your relief.

Although these things can take time to sort themselves out, the majority of clients find tremendous relief within just a few months of work. First, you will begin to relax. You will be able to relax because you’ll have a context for what is going on inside yourself – you are beginning to understand yourself and how you operate psychologically AND neuro-biologically.

Next, brightness will begin to return to your life – you’ll learn to love yourself and begin to feel gratitude and appreciation for their lives. Through our work together, you’ll find what proper self-care means for you and how it helps you stay on top of your mental health.

Lastly, you’ll begin to find meaning in your life and you’ll begin to create meaning in your life.
I’m sure you’re thinking “All this sounds great, but how? How does this work?”

Anxiety and depression are nervous system disorders.
And they should be treated as such.

Through this understanding, we can examine what causes your system to go “off-kilter” or become dysregulated (as we say in therapy).

There is always a root cause of any chronic anxiety or depression. Our job is to uncover this root, which usually involves emotional pain. This may sound scary, but once this pain is faced, it is immensely freeing.

In therapy, you’ll also begin to have experiences that are opposite of the experiences that caused you pain. You’ll be able to have experiences of being seen, being understood, being accepted and valued for who you are at your core. And this is where the real change begins to take shape.
